Ashes in the Wind

And here comes the dusk uninvited to the burning ground

Breaching hesitations covered with the red tears

Ashes in the wind, trying to find a home in this dark abyss

All that smoke can be – to wander in its rusty nomadic home

Sparks from the fumes where the smoky flames were kindled

All that fire could torch was the form of expression

The forbidden bushes where denial rules and writhes

As a light feather the soul floats wandering paralyzed

Leaving transparent shadows of mysterious reality

The winds have covered a thousand cries beneath

A roaring widow, a hissing mother of a single child

Grappling with the wounds, assuming the being will survive

Look deep within the hollow immortal, give a reason to exist

Shadows of reality

Shadows of reality
Darkness in prosperity

Don’t be a fool
You’re no more in school

Turn around
Listen to that sound

Its calling you by its side
You just should not hide

Run on this ground
Now cease to frown

Life is beautiful
You got to be a bit careful

Just untie your soul
Why don’t you wanna go

Stop living life in grids
Open up the lids

And fly at least try
Stand up again tall

Let life take a call
It may hit, every bit

And you cant go away
Coz You ought to stay

Escaped Soul

Happy souls exist forever
Some depart in agony today

Enslaved in mortal covers
Choke up to the harsh reality

Choosing the path of denial
Fly towards the open canopy

Rest in peace my dear friend
Hope there was another end

*In memory of a colleague who lost his life in an unfortunate accident. Please join me while I pray for him. May his soul rest in peace.*

An Untold Story

Painted Canvasses without blood
The desires dried dripping

Poured on demon like floors
Couldn’t devour the soul

The paints screamed for a wall
When kerosene washed them away

Brushes lie on the stained cotton
Looking at the easel in the corner

Silks stacked away, a story of life
Painted in crimson, clear blue

Incomplete it rested
Complimenting rags shoved in the carton

It only looked like she did not care
Neither did she look back once,

As her life was on a run, yearning
Meaning and fun, in wrong places

Years passed away, not realising
Once best friends were peeping, calling

Attention, care and caresses
Ready to be used up and thrown

So they could get a home
On the incomplete canvasses

Waiting to complete the story untold
A place where they truly belonged

*If my incomplete paintings, and the paints had feelings, they’d be really missing me*

Happyness

I am watching television
Suddenly something’s different

Tingles, like butterflies on my palm
His fingers ticking them,
with movements calm

I look at him, see his lovely smiles
This is happiness, will go for miles

Then suddenly I wonder
Deeply ponder

My poetry is always grumpy
Trying to overcome the sulky

Coz when I am happy
I am just super thrilled

Like the meadows
Unfolding the rainbows

Like beauty to the breath
And joy to the sight

Filled with words
Don’t know which one to write

Its not that I am sad
I just write when I am mad

Coz when I am happy
I am living each moment

Preserving the moods,
The Happyness quotient

My friend asked me why do I write sad poetry more often than I write happy ones – hopefully he knows now – this is why!
Would also want to mention that the words ‘Happyness’ comes from the movie ‘Pursuit of Happyness’. Simply loved the idea behind NOT spelling it right deliberately (:
